Covering an area of approximately 2,280 hectares, the Tuart Forest National Park is located on the coastal plain between Capel and Busselton and is the largest naturally occurring Tuart forest in the world. It’s unique blend of Tuart, Peppermint trees and grasses give a park-like appearance in which a diverse range of flora and fauna (including an endangered species, the Ringtail Possom) make it ideal for bushwalking, nature studies and picnics. Ambergate Reserve The Ambergate Reserve is 75 hectares of remnant vegetation of the once extensive coastal plain woodland, now extensively cleared. The Reserve has numerous plants and wildlife of outstanding conservational importance. Maintained by the Busselton Naturalist Club, it is an ideal spot for nature studies and bush walking. by the Ramsar Convention as 'Wetlands of International Importance',
the wetlands offer views of abunbdant birdlife. There is a hide on
the southern side, with a walk trail accessible from Layman
